ABOUT THE PLAYER
Dimitrios Keramitsis found himself a place that he can show and improve himself in Pogon Szczecin. From 4 starting league games (from possible 27) last season, he started 14 (currently from possible 23) this year and his game shows why the current U21 International got a such improvement in numbers.
Tall, brave and both-footed centre back is quite the weapon on Set Pieces and his xG of 2,55 shows it clearly. One important thing he needs in his game is keep on playing. Game by game, Keramitsis acts more confident, less threatened. To get better levels of playing, he needs to improve his concentration first and foremost. Sometimes one wrong scan or broken offside line can cause a problem yet his longer first steps on open area can close out this hiccup for now.
To his benefit, Keramitsis can currently perform better on a right side of a 3 at the back formation. He played mostly at the right centre back on formations like 4-4-2 (4-2-2-2 variant) and 4-2-3-1. To play an actual left-footed companion affected him positively on last few matches.
Strengths –
- Aerial force on both ends
- Both-footed (Prefers Right)
- Goes forward with the ball
- Brave
- Anticipates through balls well
Weaknesses
–
- Acts late while tracking back
- Needs more physicality vs Forwards
- Rather unsure on ground defence
- Concentration should be better
- Lacking match experience in Pro Level (Around 35 games inc. Pogon II matches)
Technical –
- Being both footed gives opportunity on playing
both sides of the position. His right foot is relatively better but left foot
can contribute to his game as well.
- Can control the ball with both foots easily
and well enough
- Can try long balls. Yet in pressure, prefers
side or back passes (might be due to team he plays, he needs to)
- Confident with the ball, can push the ball
further up the pitch
Tactical –
- Needs more match experience professionally and
it affects his tactical eye considerably
- Aerially, reads the game well but on the
ground, improvement can make him a more complete Centre Back
- Strong Set-Piece asset, especially with
headers yet can find spaces for strikes (offensively) and interceptions
(defensively) with his foot as well.
Mental
–
- Courageous in defensive actions
- Needs to concentrate and scan his surroundings
more while tracking back. In which he broke the offside line while marking
opposition
- Anticipates his defensive actions mostly well yet needs to act more confidently. Makes critical interceptions but sometimes he refrains himself (e.g. to not miss marked man etc)
- Does not allow the ball to bounce at the back most of the time.
Physical –
- Has a rather slimmer body and target man
profiles create issues once game gets more physical.
- Stands 193 cm tall and uses his length well.
Timings in his jumping are good (open to improvement for the next level). Most
of his interceptions are against aerial threats.
- Not too fast, which shows while tracking back
from set pieces, but accelerates well once necessary (i.e., longer first
steps). Stopped number of counter attacks once the right back caught up the
pitch.
Social –
- Communicates in the game, especially with the
right back
- Quite determined player. Does not fall from
the game regardless of the situation
- Likes to play the ball forward once available
but does not put his teammates on risky situations

TEAMS TO
RECOMMEND
- Mid to Upper Mid-Tier TR1 Clubs. Namely Alanyaspor and Samsunspor (if Samsunspor plans to turn to 3 at the back).
- Replacement for Göztepe after Taha Altikardes
- Can be a prospect to start and improve for 3 at the back playing BL2 clubs
RISKS TO CONSIDER
- Low match experience on professional level creates a question mark. In a formation with 4 at the back, any misstep etc. can affect the team more negatively
- He still needs to be at somewhere he can improve, make mistakes and learn from them, not somewhere he gets thrown into endless criticism.
